"Fire on The Hill" April 27, 2016

The mid-year gathering of The League of Extraordinary Red Heads will be held on Wednesday, April 27, 2016 from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. at The Hill at Muza, an indoor/outdoor European bar and garden tucked away at 379 Congress St, Troy, New York.

There will be a $5 admission charge, to help cover the LoERH's costs (including a live dancing fire goddess, a fashion photographer and other expenses), a cash bar and a special menu from the outdoor grill.

Jennifer looks fabulous sporting her extraordinary T-shirt.

As always, newcomers will be inducted into the League by receiving the coveted "Member" card. This Wednesday, the League is rolling out two new lines of official cards. Finally, for non-red haired parents, siblings, & offspring... we give you the MC1R Gene Carrier card (that would also be known as "The Redhead Gene"). While only about 2 percent of the U.S. population has red hair, about 25% of the population are "red hair carriers." We won't be requiring any cheek swabs. But this is our way of thanking all you out there for keeping the fires burning for us, so to speak.

And for our other LoERH friends, fans and supporters, we give you the Member(ish) card. Think of it as a "Ginger Benevolent Association" card.

LoERH T-shirts will be available for sale. And a professional fashion photographer will document our proceedings. But wait, there's more: There will be some fun giveaways by Yelp! And lots of free copies of the 518Life magazine featuring a photo essay about 6 extraordinary red heads in the League.

About The Hill at Muza

The Hill at Muza is a modern European bar, beer garden and event venue nestled behind its popular parent restaurant, Muza, in Troy's Mount Ida neighborhood, just up "The Hill" from downtown.

Patrons enter The Hill at Muza through a pair of black gates located at 379 Congress St. A narrow walkway between two buildings leads to a surprisingly charming open-air beer garden with intimate nooks of stonework and woodwork, as well as fanciful lighting by Troy-based Lightexture. The outdoor portion is heated by a roaring wood burning fire pit and a collection of commercial grade flame-torch patio heaters, creating a wonderful glow. Parking is available all along Congress Street, on both sides.

The beer list features brews from Central and Eastern Europe. The house draft is Zywiec, a pale lager that comes in full or half liter pours.

The Hill at Muza is open Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. Spring hours are to be announced.

Street parking is available on both Congress and 15th Streets. There is also a bike rack on the 15th Street side.
